I read both comments about the Speed Bolt Release talking about the need for the bolt spring to have to be cut in order for this product to work as it should on my S&W M&P 15-22. Is this still true? If so, are there any videos, or customer support information that explains the proper way to cut the spring without voiding the warranty on my new S&W M&P 15-22? Thanks for your help.

First, cut 2 turns of the bolt catch springs. The 25 round magazine spring is very weak in tension pressure as compared to the 10 round magazine. If you overcut the bolt catch spring, the spring is available on brownells and/or midwayusa at a price range of .99 to $1.99.
Second, clean the bolt catch and the bolt catch housing in the lower receiver. Remove any oil and carbon completely. By the way, put the cut end of the bolt spring in first and the non cut end should be facing out for the plunger.
Here is my test results after the bolt catch modifications and with the new SBR installed. I have shot 12 magazines of 25 rounds and the bolt catch held open after the last round has been fired on all the magazines used. The ammo used were federal bulk from Walmart.
Overall, the new SBR works as it was intended. It is much lighter than the original SBR. Paul and the NDZ staffs were awesome people and they listen to all their customers' issues and concerns.

The SBR is well made and works very nicely .. with one qualification.
The stock Bolt Latch spring is too strong and must be modified for the SBR to work correctly. The modification is to clip two turns off the spring and reinstall. This done the SBR works perfectly.
NOTE: This is NOT the fault of NDZ; it is a design fault of S&W, because bolt lockback failure is a known problem with the 15-22.
